Sightseeing
Just a 40-minute drive east of downtown Vancouver, Langley (pop 130,000) attracts visitors with its blend of historic and heritage sites, engaging museums, circle routes that visit local farms and nurseries, wine tours, horseback riding, and boutique and big-box shopping.
Fort Langley, nestled next to the Fraser River, gave the city of Langley its first claim to fame in the mid-19th century as the "Birthplace of British Columbia."
Yet Langley now delivers the kind of accommodations, dining, and other amenities that visitors expect in the 21st century.
Whether it's hiking through local parks, family-friendly festivals, or glitzy movie theatre and casino experiences, it's all here in this Fraser Valley community.
Transport
While the easiest way to get to and around Langley is by car, recreational vehicle or motorcycle, there are other options for transportation and getting around town.
However, visitors venturing out on a scenic driving route will require a vehicle.
Activities
Visit local museums and historic and heritage sites such as the Fort Langley National Historic Site. Sample farm-fresh produce on circle routes, or sip local wines on wine tours.
Go horseback riding, play golf, chill out in regional parks and wildlife centres, or shop at quirky boutiques and big-box retailers alike.
There's entertainment for every taste with the Fraser Valley's biggest casino, monumental movie theatres, live sports action, and a year-round slate of colourful festivals.
Entertainment
Whether attending a large or small scale special event, we are eager to assist you in creating a perfect stay.
Shopping
From shopping malls and big-box outlets to car and motorcycle retailers, antique shops, and bookstores, Langley offers a wealth of options for savvy shoppers.
Look out for the Downtown Langley Ambassadors in their easy-to-spot blue shirts, who happily offer directions and walking tours.
Many Fraser Valley shoppers head straight for Willowbrook Shopping Centre (19705 Fraser Hwy), one of Metro Vancouver's largest shopping malls. With over 150 outlets, it occupies 640,000sq ft/59,458sq m of retail space. Check out brand-name department stores, toy stores, fashion stores and sporting goods retailers.
Where 200th St intersects with the Langley Bypass, more big-box shopping abounds, along with strip malls and shopping plazas. Pick up consumer electronics, books, homewares, jewelry or sporting goods here and in the surrounding Regional Town Centre. And a huge selection of car dealerships lines the western arm of the Langley Bypass.
Additionally, don't miss the many brand-name stores clustered around the Colossus Langley movie multiplex (20090 91A Ave) in the Walnut Grove area.
